Master Potter·Lifelong Player

We don't stop playing because we grow old — we grow old because we stop playing.

Sixty years at the wheel, and still learning to juggle, unicycle and balance. This is where my two loves live — the craft of clay, and the play that keeps a body and a mind young. Come in and look around.

A little about me

Six decades of clay, and I'm just getting warmed up.

I've spent my life making things with my hands — throwing pots, building kilns, mixing glazes, and chasing the small miracles that happen when earth, fire and patience meet. Pottery taught me to be present, to fail cheerfully, and to keep my hands and my curiosity busy.

Somewhere along the way I noticed something: the same playfulness that makes a good potter also keeps a person young. So I kept adding to the repertoire — juggling, the unicycle, tightrope, balance work, all the beautiful awkward practice of learning new movement well into my eighties.

Now I teach both. If you want to make pottery, I'll show you everything I know. And if you want to stay vital — sharp, balanced, delighted — I'll show you how to never leave the playground. That's the whole idea, really.

What I believe

A good life is a made life — shaped with your hands, kept nimble by play, and generous enough to teach the next person how.
